Gerald Sigua
Gerald began his academic journey in Food Science, earning his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in 2005 and his Master’s degree from The Ohio State University in 2009. He spent five years at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, where his passion for patient care led him to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant.
After graduating from South University–Tampa’s PA program in 2017, Gerald found his calling in psychiatry. Since 2019, he has been dedicated to supporting patients across the lifespan—from children to older adults—through compassionate, evidence-based care. His experience spans outpatient settings, group homes, and post-acute care environments, including assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. No matter the setting, Gerald’s focus is always the same: delivering thoughtful, individualized care that supports each patient’s well-being.
Gerald is also passionate about education and mentorship. He serves as a preceptor for Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner students and is an adjunct faculty member at South University’s PA program, where he helps guide and inspire the next generation of healthcare providers.
When he’s not working with patients or teaching, Gerald is a die-hard Florida Gators fan who enjoys attending games and spending time with family and friends.
